Alternative Economy Policies and
the Future for Jobs and Economic Growth

Guest Speakers -
Heather McGhee, Director, Washington, D.C. Office Demos
John Irons, Director of Research, Economic Policy Institute

Heather McGhee is deeply involved in assessing and publicly articulating the impact of federal policies on the economic health of the nation. In that role, she appears frequently in national media outlets. For example, she appeared recently on Countdown on MSNBC discussing the effects of taxing and spending policies on GDP and jobs.

John Irons focuses his research on the U.S. economy and economic policy, with an emphasis on federal tax and budget policy. Recently, John was a featured participant in the conference America’s Fiscal Choices: Strengthening the Economy and Building for the Future, where, along with other leading thinkers, he discussed the critical economic choices and challenges confronting the nation

Heather and John will offer us their views and thoughts on the current economic dilemma, alternative scenarios for moving forward, and what trends we might expect to see in the jobs situation.

It promises to be a fascinating program, full of insights from two people deeply immersed in the policy debates. We invite you to join us.  Find out more about the speakers at the end of this page.
